By installing and using Local Waifu ("the app") you agree to these terms.

Payment processing is handled by Dodo Payments, Inc. (USA), acting as Merchant of Record. Dodo collects and remits applicable VAT / sales tax in your jurisdiction on our behalf.
2. License
You buy a personal, non-transferable license to install and use the app on up to 3 of your Macs. The license is one-time; the app continues to work on whatever version was installed at the time the license becomes inactive (refund / non-renewal). To keep receiving updates beyond the first 365 days, you can buy a renewal.
Source code is available on GitHub for transparency and security review. Source availability is not a copyright grant. You may not fork, redistribute, sell, or build a competing product from the code. Personal study and contributions back via pull request are welcome.
3. Pricing & VAT
- Lifetime: $25 (launch promo) or $35 (standard). One-time payment. Includes 365 days of automatic updates.
- Renewal: $35 per year. Extends your update window by another 365 days. Optional and opt-in only, your existing copy keeps working without it. No auto-charge.
Prices in USD. Dodo shows the final price including any applicable VAT for your jurisdiction at checkout. We do not store your payment method.
4. Right of withdrawal & refunds
Under EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU and Polish ustawa o prawach konsumenta, consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance purchases.
For digital content (software like Local Waifu), this right ceases after delivery has started, IF the consumer:
- Has given prior express consent to immediate execution, and
- Has acknowledged loss of the right of withdrawal as a consequence.
Dodo's checkout collects both of these consents before processing your payment.
Independently of the statutory framework, we offer a 14-day money-back, no questions asked guarantee. Email us or use the Dodo customer portal. Refunds revoke your license on the merchant side. The app does not currently auto-detect refunds on a schedule, so an existing install may keep running until you re-redeem a key or manage your devices in Settings → License (which forces a fresh check against Dodo). Continuing to use a refunded license outside of our 14-day window violates these terms. After 14 days, refunds are case-by-case, reach out.
A model withdrawal form (Annex II to Directive 2011/83/EU) is available, but you may use any clear written statement of withdrawal.
5. Trial
The first 7 days are free. No card required. After 7 days the chat is
locked behind the paywall; your data is preserved and accessible after
purchase. The trial is per Mac install, wiping
~/Library/Application Support/com.lumizone.localwaifu/ does
NOT grant a fresh trial (we keep a tombstone marker so the timer can't be
reset).
6. What the app does
- Runs entirely on your Mac. No accounts, no cloud, no telemetry, see the Privacy Policy.
- Supports BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) for cloud LLM providers if you want a beefier model than your Mac can run locally. We do not see your API keys; we forward the prompt directly to the provider you picked.
- Includes optional integrations (Calendar, Reminders, iMessage, Telegram, Home Assistant) that all run locally and require explicit opt-in.
7. What the app does not do
- It does not run on iOS, iPadOS, Windows, or Linux today.
- It does not have a multi-user mode. Each install is for a single human.
- It does not provide medical, legal, financial, or therapeutic advice. The chat is for companionship and entertainment only, and is not a substitute for professional support.
8. Crisis & wellbeing
Local Waifu is not a mental-health tool. If you are in distress or thinking about suicide or self-harm, please contact a real human at one of the following crisis lines:

9. Statutory rights & conformity
For consumers in the EU and EEA, Directive 2019/770 on the supply of digital content and Polish ustawa o prawach konsumenta Art. 43a–43g give you a statutory 2-year right to conformity. If the app fails to conform to the description, is unfit for ordinary use, or lacks features a reasonable consumer would expect, you have the right to repair, replacement, price reduction, or termination under those laws.
Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
10. No warranty (non-consumer transactions)
For B2B and other non-consumer transactions, the app is provided "AS IS". We don't guarantee it will work for any particular purpose, won't break under future macOS versions, or will keep working forever. We back this up with the 14-day refund window; beyond that you carry the risk of the software not meeting your needs.
For consumers, the statutory warranty in §9 above applies regardless of this section.
11. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lumizone's total liability under these terms is capped at the amount you paid for the license (typically $25–$35).
For consumers, this cap does not apply to liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; willful misconduct or gross negligence; or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under mandatory consumer protection law.
12. Governing law & jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Polish law. Disputes go to the competent court in Poland.
For consumers resident in the EU/EEA, this choice of law does not deprive you of the mandatory protections of the law of your country of habitual residence (Rome I Regulation, Art. 6). You may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
13. Online Dispute Resolution (ODR)
EU consumers can use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform to resolve disputes out of court:

14. Support

15. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app's CHANGELOG and on the GitHub release notes. Your continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
