HeraHaven is not a provider-blind private diary. Its published privacy policy allows employee sample checks of conversations and lists retention for five years after account erasure. Its EEA terms offer a model-training opt-out by email. These disclosures do not prove a security failure, but they matter before sharing intimate or identifying information.
Is HeraHaven safe? Its published policies do not support treating it as a diary that the provider cannot read. The privacy policy describes employee sample checks of conversations and lists retention for five years after account erasure. Those are concrete reasons to limit sensitive disclosures, not proof that the service has suffered a breach.[1]
This review checks HeraHaven’s own public documents as available on November 3, 2026. The privacy page labels its version September 10, 2024; the EEA terms label theirs August 22, 2026.[1][2] A document’s version date is different from the date it was checked. Neither establishes whether every backend system implements the policy correctly.
The focus here is narrow: what you should know before typing something personal. It is a policy review, not a penetration test, a purchase test, or a claim that HeraHaven is a scam.
Private from other users is different from private from HeraHaven
The short version: A conversation can stay out of other users’ feeds while still being available to the service provider. HeraHaven explicitly describes possible employee access.[1]
The homepage FAQ says conversations are confidential and says encryption protects data.[3] Read that alongside section B.2 of the privacy policy. That section says HeraHaven carries out periodic conversation sample checks for quality control and improving or patching its model. It then states that communication with the chatbot may become visible to employees bound by confidentiality agreements.[1]
That distinction changes the decision. Confidentiality obligations are a restriction on what employees may do with information. They do not mean employees are technically unable to see it.
The policy does not say that every message is manually reviewed. Nor does this disclosure establish that strangers can browse your chat history. Those would be different claims, requiring different evidence. The supported conclusion is that you should not rely on a promise of zero provider access.
Before sharing something you would not want reviewed, ask support whether you can exclude your conversations from human sampling. A model-training opt-out alone does not answer that question.
Check what the policy says about your messages and identity
The short version: The privacy policy covers chat content and media as well as account and device information. Leaving your name out of a message does not make the whole account anonymous.[1]
The registration section lists identification data such as a first name, communication data such as an email address, and gender. The chat-use section lists images, video, audio, and data you share during chat. A separate section lists automatically collected information including IP address, location, device settings, and activity data.[1]
These categories are useful because they show what to consider together. A fictional character name does not remove the identifiers associated with the account or browser. That is a practical inference from the listed data, not an allegation that HeraHaven publicly identifies its users.
Use a simple test before sending a message: would it still feel acceptable if attached to your account record? A detailed story about a workplace dispute can identify you without containing your full name. A photograph can reveal another person’s face or an address in the background.
For a broader explanation of those connections, see where AI companion chat data goes. This article stays with HeraHaven’s specific disclosures rather than repeating the whole cloud-data guide.
Read the retention period before deleting an account
The short version: The published policy lists “5 years after the erasure of your account” for both registration data and chat-use data. Do not equate closing an account with immediate deletion of every retained record.[1]
That wording appears under the retention heading in both sections B.1 and B.2.[1] It deserves attention before you start a conversation, not only when you decide to leave.
The policy also describes data rights and gives support@herahaven.ai as the contact for exercising them. It says the company will respond within thirty days with information about the progress of the request.[1] A response deadline is not a promise that every copy disappears within that period.
If you want to leave, ask separately about account closure and personal-data erasure. Request an explanation of what chat content, uploaded media, account information, and backups remain, why they remain, and when they will be removed. Save the reply somewhere outside the account.
The published wording does not settle every retention edge case. Rather than guessing how erasure rights interact with the stated five-year period, ask for a written explanation specific to your request. This review does not determine whether the retention arrangement complies with every applicable law.
Model-training opt-out is a separate request
The short version: HeraHaven’s EEA terms say you can opt out of content being used for model training by emailing support@herahaven.ai. They also say this may limit service functionality.[2]
Article 3 permits use of content to provide, maintain, develop, and improve the service, meet legal obligations, enforce policies, and keep the service safe. The model-training opt-out appears in that same section.[2]
If training use matters to you, send the request before supplying sensitive content. You can keep it brief:
Please opt my account out of using my content for model training. Please confirm when this takes effect, whether it covers content already submitted, and whether human conversation sampling continues.
This is suggested wording for your own request, not a quotation from HeraHaven. Do not include intimate conversation extracts just to explain why you want privacy.
An opt-out, an erasure request, and a question about employee review address different things. Ask for separate answers. The public opt-out wording does not itself promise to reverse earlier training or to stop all operational processing.
HeraHaven also publishes a rest-of-world terms page. Check the terms presented for your location and account rather than assuming the EEA contract applies everywhere.
What encryption claims do and do not establish
The short version: The homepage’s encryption claim is not evidence that HeraHaven cannot read your messages. Its employee-access disclosure means you should not infer provider-blind confidentiality from that claim.[1][3]
Encryption is worth having. The question is what it protects against and who can access readable content. A marketing statement about encryption does not, on its own, explain key custody, access controls, or how review samples are handled.
Nothing in this policy review independently verifies those technical controls. It also does not establish a security incident. Avoid jumping from “employees may review samples” to “the database is exposed.” Authorized access under a policy and unauthorized access through a security failure are different risks.
If your requirement is that a provider must be unable to read the conversation, ask for documentation that establishes that property. A general privacy reassurance is not enough. Our Replika safety review uses the same distinction between a service’s stated commitments and what a hosted provider processes; its findings should not be transferred to HeraHaven.
A practical checklist before the first personal message
The short version: Decide what you will share only after checking provider access, retention, and the opt-out. Keep your first conversations low-stakes while unanswered questions remain.
Use this checklist before you commit private details or money:
- Set an information boundary. Keep passwords, identity documents, and other people’s private material out of the conversation. Describe a situation without identifying the people involved when those details are unnecessary.
- Ask the questions that change your decision. Confirm the training opt-out and whether employee sampling can be excluded. Keep the answers.
- Check your exit route. Read the retention wording and ask how an erasure request is handled. Do not wait until you urgently want a message removed.
- Protect account access. Use a unique password where password registration is available, protect the email or social account used to sign in, and sign out on shared devices. These precautions address account access, not provider access.
- Review billing separately. The EEA terms say subscriptions renew automatically until canceled and describe cancellation in account settings. Check the price and renewal period shown before purchase, then retain cancellation confirmation if you stop.[2]
HeraHaven’s terms require users to be at least 18.[2] A friendly character is not an exception to that requirement, and a convincing reply is not a reason to trust the chatbot with urgent medical or legal decisions.
The decision is personal, but the test can be concrete: would you still send this message knowing that the published policy allows employee sample checks and lists retention after account erasure? If the answer is no, change what you share or choose a different data arrangement. You do not need to label the company malicious to decide its published terms do not fit your privacy needs.

Questions people ask
Is HeraHaven safe to use?
There is no blanket safety guarantee. HeraHaven's published privacy policy permits employee sample checks of conversations and lists retention for five years after account erasure. Decide whether those terms fit what you intend to share. This policy review is not a security audit.
Can HeraHaven employees read conversations?
The privacy policy says periodic conversation samples are checked for quality control and model improvement, and that communications may become visible to employees bound by confidentiality agreements. That does not mean every conversation is read.
Can I opt out of HeraHaven model training?
The EEA terms say to email support@herahaven.ai to opt out of content being used for model training. Ask for confirmation of the scope and effective date; the published opt-out should not be treated as a promise to erase all retained data.
Does deleting a HeraHaven account immediately erase chats?
Do not assume so. The published privacy policy lists five years after account erasure as the retention period for both registration data and chat-use data. Ask support which data will be erased and which records will remain.
