Activate and Move a Direct License

Activate a lifetime key

Goal

Activate the Direct edition on the current computer.

Before you start

• Copy the exact key from the purchase email.
• Connect to the internet for activation.
• A key supports up to three device activations according to the current app text.

Steps

1. Use any one of these locations:
   • expand I have a license key on the Welcome screen;
   • open Settings → License → Redeem a key;
   • use the key field on the expired-trial screen.
2. Paste the key.
3. Select Redeem.
4. Wait for Lifetime · active.

Expected result

The full app unlocks immediately. Settings → License shows an active lifetime license and the original activation date.

If something goes wrong

• Re-copy the complete key.
• Check internet access.
• An invalid attempt does not destroy the current trial state.
• For Activation limit reached, deactivate an old device or contact support.
• For a revoked or disabled key, contact contact@localwaifu.com.

Move the license to a new computer

Goal

Free an activation slot and activate Local Waifu on a replacement computer.

Before you start

• Export important characters and make a full backup.
• Have the license key from the purchase email.
• Deactivate before selling, wiping, or losing access to the old computer.

Steps

1. On the old computer, open Settings → License.
2. Select Deactivate this device.
3. Confirm Yes, deactivate.
4. Install the Direct edition on the new computer.
5. Complete the basic onboarding.
6. Open Settings → License.
7. Paste the same key and select Redeem.
8. Import exported characters and reinstall required models.

Expected result

The old activation slot is released and the new computer shows Lifetime · active.

If something goes wrong

• Deactivation does not grant a fresh trial on the old computer. It returns to any remaining trial time or the expired state.
• If the old computer is unavailable, contact support rather than repeatedly resetting data.
• Do not publish the key in screenshots or diagnostics.
