Install on macOS

Install Local Waifu on an Apple Silicon Mac.

Follow the bold button names and numbered steps. Technical names are included only when you need to recognize a model or file inside the app.

Install the Direct or Store DMG

Goal

Install Local Waifu in the Applications folder and start the correct edition.

Before you start

  • Confirm that your Mac uses Apple Silicon.
  • Download the DMG only from the official Direct page/release or your Store library.
  • If updating an existing installation, create a backup first.

Steps

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg file.
  2. Drag Local Waifu into Applications.
  3. Wait for the copy to finish.
  4. Eject the mounted disk image.
  5. Open Applications and start Local Waifu.
  6. Allow macOS to complete its first security verification.

Expected result

Local Waifu opens to the Welcome/onboarding flow. A Direct build can show license options; a Store/Unlocked build does not ask for a key.

If something goes wrong

  • Download the DMG again from the official source.
  • Confirm that you did not download a Windows installer or an Intel-only package.
  • In Finder, Control-click Local Waifu, choose Open, and approve the system prompt if macOS offers that option.
  • Do not routinely disable Gatekeeper or remove quarantine attributes. If a notarized official build is still blocked, contact support with the exact macOS message.
