Memory Book, Knowledge, and Growth
Understand memories, sources, knowledge, growth, and learned behavior.
Follow the bold button names and numbered steps. Technical names are included only when you need to recognize a model or file inside the app.
Memory Book
Memory Book shows information extracted from conversations. Common types are:
- fact: something stable about you or the world;
- moment: a meaningful event;
- preference: what you like or dislike;
- inside joke: shared language or recurring humor.
Memories with high importance can be marked as key memories.
Edit or delete a memory
- Open Memory Book.
- Select a memory.
- Edit its text and save, or choose delete and confirm.
- Use Where she learned this to inspect the source messages when provenance is available.
If no source messages appear, the memory may predate source tracking or may have been inferred from a longer pattern.
A memory save can fail when the memory model is offline. Check the required embedding model in Settings → Models.
Knowledge graph
The Knowledge view organizes entities and relationships learned for the active character. It is separate from Memory Book:
- Memory Book contains readable saved memories.
- Knowledge contains entities and relations.
- Backstory/Lorebook contains information you deliberately enter.
- Session summaries compress older conversation context.
Growth
Settings → Growth is a progress view, not a manual XP editor. It can show:
- relationship stage and XP;
- days known and message count;
- last interaction;
- facts, inferences, summaries, and milestones;
- behavioral evolution and relationship timeline.
If there is not enough history, use the companion normally. Patterns and milestones appear after more interactions.
Adaptive Dials
Adaptive Dials distinguish the personality baseline from a learned adjustment and effective behavior. This explains why the companion can gradually adapt even when you do not manually change the original personality values.
Resetting adaptation does not delete the character, conversations, or Memory Book.
