Local Waifu 1.7.3 macOS Windows

Follow the bold button names and numbered steps. Technical names are included only when you need to recognize a model or file inside the app.
Local Waifu is available for macOS and Windows in two distribution editions. Most features work the same in both editions, but installation, licensing, and updates differ.
Labels used in this guide
- ALL: all supported platforms and editions.
- macOS: Apple Silicon Mac only.
- Windows: Windows x64 only.
- DIRECT: the direct-download edition with a 7-day trial and license key.
- STORE: the Store/Unlocked edition distributed through a supported storefront; no in-app trial or key.
- LOCAL: processing stays on your computer.
- CLOUD: selected data is sent to the provider you configured.
- DOWNLOAD: additional files or model weights are required.
- RESTART: restart Local Waifu after changing the setting.
- WARNING: read carefully before continuing.
UI paths use this format: Settings → Models → Chat Models. Button and field labels appear in bold.
Screenshots in this edition of the guide show the English macOS interface. Windows uses the same main concepts, but some hardware and installer screens differ.
